So I signed up for a class or a private lesson what now!?
Wonderful! I am excited to have you join us!
A few things to know:
we have minimal heat in the winter
zero AC in the summer so dress appropriately.
we also lack human bathroom so plan accordingly
because of this we may occasionally postpone for extreme weather
I work with many dogs who prefer to not see other humans or dogs. So please be attentive to your scheduled time and arrive no more than 15 mins prior to your scheduled class.
your dog is welcome to potty in our field or around the outside of the training space but please clean up after your dog and feel free to let me know if you see any that has been missed!
A few things to bring
your pup can come in whatever collar or harness they normally wear
a leash between 4 and 8 feet long, not a flexi leash
a sandwich bag of your dogs normal kibble
a sandwich bag of a small pre cut treat your dog really likes. these can be commercial treats or small chunks of cheese, or meat pre cut and ready to be used
Things I will provide
a water bucket for your dog
a mat for your dog to rest on
a kennel if it is easier for your pup to relax in a kennel
a space with good footing for us to work
and any props we may end up using
Please compare these direction to your GPS. Sometime the GPS leads people astray!
74 Dogtown road in Palmyra Maine
We work out of a training space that used to be a part of our barn. When you drive up the driveway you will continue straight past the 2 solar sheds and the greenhouse to the log cabin looking building, if it is your first time I will meet you there to show you the way to the training space.
When getting to our farm it is on google maps as Cornerstone Farm. We are on the town lines of three towns so although we are entirely in Palmyra it may pop up as in Pittsfield or Detroit.
It is VERY IMPORTANT to not take Buttons road to get here (that will take you down a discontinued road that is rarely passable by an average passenger car (Mainers I know you are tough but there is a way to get here without ripping out your muffler) . You should instead turn directly off of route 100 directly onto Dogtown road
